Barbara A. Fetzer Business Scholarship

"The Barbara A. Fetzer Business Scholarship is open to female students who have a minimum 3.0 GPA , are US citizens, and are Waubonsee district residents. There is a preference for students who graduated from West Aurora High School, intend to transfer to a 4-year college or university, plan to major in accounting or business, and have financial need. This scholarship was established by a Waubonsee alum, Barbara A. Fetzer ’77, to provide assistance to students in the business field at Waubonsee Community College. Ms. Fetzer graduated from Waubonsee with an Associate of Science Degree in Business Administration. Following graduation, she continued her education at Aurora University, then known as Aurora College, graduating with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting in 1979. Later, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Studies – Radio, Television, Film from Northern Illinois University in 1985. After 37 years, she retired as an accountant in the entertainment industry where she began her career working in feature movies in Chicago before moving into scripted television series in Los Angeles. The scholarship may cover all or part of tuition and required course fees and may also provide support for required books for credit courses."
