Program description

"The Bill & Shirley Smets Family Scholarship was established in 2023 by the Smets Family. This scholarship is valued at $500 to be awarded to a Dawson County, Nebraska graduate who is enlisting or currently enlisted in the United States Military. The qualified Bill & Shirley Smets Family Scholarship recipient must be enlisted in any branch of the United States Military and pursuing a post-secondary education at any institution. Applicants must show a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better, have passed the Military entry endurance test, show financial need, and, in essay form, explain why they chose to serve our Country."
