Program description

"Recipient must be a fully enrolled junior or senior undergraduate student or graduate student in good academic standing, with a declared STEM , nursing, physician assistant or medicine MD program. This scholarship is awarded in memory of Braden Lee Small who attended FSU and had an untimely death in his last semester of his senior year due to a rare medical condition Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis ( HLH ). He planned to use information technology to improve the medical field. This scholarship is being awarded by his family in his loving memory. One of the hopes of this scholarship is for the recipient to use his/her degree to provide care, cures, rehabilitation, and healing in the medical field through direct care or technology. Any student may apply to be considered for the award; however, it is the preference of the donor that the recipient be a citizen of the United States and also be a Florida Resident."

Where this information comes from

This page is published from Florida State University Foundation (FS4U)'s own public scholarship portal (fsu.academicworks.com), read and verified 2026-09-03. This is a different source from most of this site's listings, which come from IRS Form 990-PF filings — see how we source scholarships. Portals change between cycles, so always confirm current details on the source listing before applying.

Most listings on this site are compiled from the foundation’s own IRS Form 990-PF filing — the public record where foundations that accept applications must state who to contact, how to apply, any deadlines, and any restrictions. Listings under /award/ are a second, separate source: read directly from the foundation’s own public scholarship portal, with a link to that source on every page. Filings are annual and portals change between cycles, so details can change: always confirm the current deadline and requirements with the foundation before applying. This site is not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any foundation listed. Scholarship information here is free; we charge only for optional application coaching, and we never write your application for you.
