BRIAN D. EILERS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

"BRIAN D. EILERS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP The Brian D. Eilers family has established a scholarship in loving memory of Brian D. Eilers who passed away September 15, 2009. Brian was a lifetime resident of Dawson County. Brian graduated in 1975 from Overton Public High School and went on to pursue a dream of having his own business. Eilers Machine & Welding, Inc. is located in the Industrial site of Lexington, NE. Brian was an innovative businessman who loved the challenges of using his hands to create things. Not only was his business a service to the community but he also built equipment that protected our country. Brian encouraged young people to go after their dreams. He understood the importance of education and the benefits of continuous education in order to achieve those dreams. A scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 will be awarded annually. The scholarship will be divided into two payments at the beginning of the first and second semesters of attendance at the school of the recipient’s choice. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must be a Dawson County High School graduate or graduating senior. Eligibility for application emphasis will be placed on awarding the scholarship to a recipient of an employee, or a past employee, a student that has either a parent(s) or a grandparent(s) that work or have worked for Eilers Machine & Welding, Inc. If no student applies that is connected to Eilers Machine & Welding, Inc. employment then the next consideration will be for a student that is focused on a technical or engineering degree pursuing post-secondary education. Consideration for the scholarship will be given to a student who shows qualities of good character and leadership skills. AWARD AMOUNT $1,000 AWARD DISBURSEMENT Funds will be sent to the Office of Financial Aid and the student’s school of choice. Additional requirements may be needed for payment."
