Program description

"Commonwealth Honors College students in Good Standing accepted to present at a national or international conference are eligible to apply for up to $750 to fund travel costs including airfare, lodging, ground transportation, food, and conference registration costs. CHC students in Good Standing wishing to attend a conference relevant to their studies are eligible to apply for up to $400. Students may submit one application per academic year. Applications should be submitted in advance of the conference date. Applications for a conference the student has already attended may be considered at the end of the academic year if funds are still available. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted. Students may only receive one award per academic year. Multiple students working with the same faculty sponsor who wish to attend the same conference may see a reduction in award funds. Recipients are required as a stipulation of this award to submit receipts for conference travel-related costs that meet or exceed the amount of the award via the post-acceptance feature of AcademicWorks. Funds will be disbursed through the Financial Aid office and received as a refund via Excess Express. Any balance remaining on the bill will need to be covered before a refund is issued. Please notify [email protected] to confirm you have submitted the application."

Where this information comes from

This page is published from University of Massachusetts Amherst's own public scholarship portal (umass.academicworks.com), read and verified 2026-09-03. This is a different source from most of this site's listings, which come from IRS Form 990-PF filings — see how we source scholarships. Portals change between cycles, so always confirm current details on the source listing before applying.

Most listings on this site are compiled from the foundation’s own IRS Form 990-PF filing — the public record where foundations that accept applications must state who to contact, how to apply, any deadlines, and any restrictions. Listings under /award/ are a second, separate source: read directly from the foundation’s own public scholarship portal, with a link to that source on every page. Filings are annual and portals change between cycles, so details can change: always confirm the current deadline and requirements with the foundation before applying. This site is not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any foundation listed. Scholarship information here is free; we charge only for optional application coaching, and we never write your application for you.
