Daphne and Stuart Wells Public Service Scholarship

"The scholarship recipient(s) will be chosen based on the applicant’s: • Documented financial need • Entering their junior year of college in good standing as a full-time student (completion of a 2-year degree or with the equivalent of 2 years of qualifying college credits) • Majoring in one of the following public service fields: Education Environmental Studies Health Professions and Related Programs Marine Biology/Oceanography Natural Resources, Forestry, and Conservation Nursing Parks, Recreation, Leisure and Fitness Studies Public Administration and Social Service Professions World Affairs and International Issues Preference will be given to students with broad-based liberal arts and science courses during the freshman and sophomore years. Applicants must be a resident of Monterey County (including undocumented residents) with preference given to students transferring to/attending CSU Monterey Bay or other 4-year college/university in California from Hartnell College or Monterey Peninsula College. • The scholarship may be renewed for one year as long as the student continues to meet the eligibility criteria To claim the award funds, the winning student(s) must: • Enroll in an accredited 4-year college/university in California as a full-time student by the Fall semester after receiving the award • Send the Claim Form provided by the Foundation along with official proof of his or her enrollment to the Foundation by the due date (usually October 31st)"
