Dr. Leslie and Phyllis Wong Scholarship Endowment

"Alumni Association Scholarship will be disbursed in the Fall 2026 semester, after the census, and approximately after the fourth week of the semester. Students must be enrolled at SFSU in Fall 2026 and meet the criteria described below to receive it. As natives of the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Leslie and Phyllis Wong know well the importance of an urban university which offers the opportunity for an excellent education to students who aspire to a college degree. As experienced leaders in public education, they have a special understanding of the way in which state budgets impact the lives of those students who rely on financial assistance to pay tuition and complete their studies. As the University increasingly depends on private support to help maintain its strong dedication to social justice and provide access for a diverse student body, Dr. and Mrs. Wong hope their gift will provide immediate assistance to students in need. Awarding Department: Alumni Association Scholarship Intent: To provide assistance to students in need. Criteria: 1) Applicants must have at least one semester remaining before graduation from SF State. 2) Students must demonstrate financial need through a written statement that should also include education or life goals. 3) Preference given to students who have financial need as determined by the Financial Aid office via the FAFSA .
