Dr. Patty Hagen Scholarship

"The Dr. Patty Hagen Scholarship Fund was established by donors to increase accessibility to computer science, data analytics, design, and IT business operations degree programs and certificates for diverse communities of the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Scholarships will be awarded to students who are members of historically excluded communities in the tech fields (women, BIPOC , foreign-born, LGBTQIA , rural, and disabled). Dr. Patty Hagen was a one-of-a-kind visionary and leader who single-handedly reshaped the innovation community of St. Louis. Her sudden passing in May of 2024 left the tech and startup community in mourning in the wake of such a monumental loss. To honor the legacy of Patty Hagen and the incredible work that she did to drive equitable opportunity in technology and innovation, TechSTL partnered with T- REX to build this scholarship fund. Eligibility Applicants must *be pursuing a certificate, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Analysis, Geospatial, Logistics, or Graphic Design *identify as female, BIPOC , LGBTQIA , foreign born, or disabled OR live in a rural area within the St. Louis Region. *be a permanent resident of the St. Louis region. The region is defined by the City of St. Louis, the Missouri counties of St. Louis, Saint Charles, Jefferson, Franklin, Lincoln, and Warren, as well as the Illinois counties of Madison, Saint Clair, Clinton, Monroe, Bond, Calhoun, Macoupin, and Jersey. *plan to enroll full-time at an accredited, nonprofit, trade/technical school, two-year college, or four-year college or university in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area *be entering the first or last year of your undergraduate program. *demonstrate unmet financial need as determined by standard methods of need analysis in practice at the time of selection. In general, unmet financial need will be defined as the difference between the cost of attendance and the sum of the student’s grant aid from other sources plus the family’s ex"
