"The Ecuadorian Society of Metropolitan St. Louis is proud to offer a scholarship aimed at supporting the next generation of leaders in our region. This scholarship promotes educational advancement for students from culturally diverse backgrounds—especially those who are the first in their families to pursue higher education. We believe in recognizing academic achievement, leadership, resilience, and a strong commitment to giving back to the community, with an emphasis on impact within the Hispanic and Latino community. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded based on eligibility and evaluation of applicants’ essays, community engagement, academic performance, and overall merit. Eligibility Criteria Be a recent high school graduate or a current student enrolled in a college or university (Associate, Bachelor’s, or Graduate degree program) Plan to be enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college or university for the 2026–2027 academic year Be the first generation in their family to attend college (preferred) Demonstrate involvement in community engagement, leadership, work, or other meaningful contributions, particularly within or in support of the Hispanic and Latino community Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or international student currently residing and studying in the United States Reside in the Greater St. Louis region: MO Counties – Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, St. Charles, St. Louis, St. Louis City, Warren, Washington, IL Counties – Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, St. Clair The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the recipient’s selected educational institution.
