Program description
"DESCRIPTION The EDSEL NEWMAN SCHOLARSHIP fund has been established by the employees of HOFFMAN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY and his family for the purpose of awarding a scholarship each year to a Lexington High School graduate currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited curriculum leading to a B.S. degree in engineering and/or computer science. The scholarship is in the amount of $1,000. QUALIFICATIONS Consideration for the scholarship will be given to a graduate or graduating senior from Lexington High School, who is pursuing a degree in the field of engineering and/or computer science. The recipient must rank in the upper 1/3 of the class, be a United States citizen, show qualities of good character and leadership, demonstrate an aptitude of academic achievement, and have participated in extra-curricular and community activities. The recipient must also demonstrate financial need. AWARD AMOUNT $1,000 AWARD DISBURSEMENT Funds will be sent to the Office of Financial Aid and the student’s school of choice. Additional requirements may be needed for payment."
