Edward Scott Morrison Endowed Scholarship Fund

"The Edward Scott Morrison Endowed Scholarship Fund for LGBTQIA Undergraduate Students was established in 2009 to provide undergraduate scholarships for full-time undergraduate students who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual ( LGBTQIA ). All Edward Scott Morrison Scholarship recipients are expected (although not required) to accept their award at the UCLA LGBTQ Campus Resource Center’s Graduation ceremony (exact details on date/location are forthcoming). As a condition of accepting the Edward Scott Morrison Scholarship, students commit to performing 20 hours of outreach activities. This commitment is confirmed by submitting their scholarship post-acceptance responses in the portal. Outreach service should be completed with local LGBTQIA organizations and must be approved by Vanessa Aviva Gonzalez-Siegel ([email protected]) prior to beginning. Students will receive information about eligible centers and organizations. Preference to those who are committed to LGBTQIA leadership and have shown a commitment to community service. Preference to those willing to have their name published in LGBTQ Campus Resource Center print and web publications, but not required. The LGBTQ Campus Resource Center’s mission is to support students and employees of all genders and sexual and romantic orientations through community-building events, resources, counseling, outreach, training, consultation and advocacy. The Center approaches its work through holistic, intersectional, and social justice frameworks that honor and empower individuals at their many identities and lived experiences including but not limited to race, ethnicity, immigration status, ability, religion, and class.
